Found these on sale for very cheap on hlj and couldn't resist for ~$9 total. They look like a serious fun painting challenge.

Got me thinking I would like to see a campaign dedicated to figure models/diorama's of real-life non-human subjects. If there isn't sufficient interest perhaps it could be opened up to fantasy creatures also but I would like to keep it to dinosaurs/wildlife if possible.

Interesting and good idea!

So, any scale, any era, any material as long as it shows wildlife of some kind?

What is the time frame you suggest?

Yes any era or material, as long as it is wildlife which really exists/existed... maybe restrict scale from 1/1-1/72? Not sure you can find anything that really exists that would require a smaller scale than that, unless you wanted to do a really small-scale blue whale?

Time frame maybe September 2013-May 2014? It seems you guys already have a couple campaigns going right now.

I would be interested in taking part in this one.

If this one is a go here is what I want to enter.

Atlantis also has these kits available:

Thanks,

Awesome! I actually just started the white stallion a few days ago which partially prompted this campaign idea..., currently waiting to see if it will be allowed in as an early rapid recon vehicle at armorama . The fit is pretty awkward and there is a ton of flash, but it is definitely help improve my sanding skills.

Just to give people a little inspiration...

I mentioned previously that I had started on the Atlantis "White Stallion" kit. This is what it looks like in the box (not my picture).

Ton's of flash and the joint fitting is poor to say the least, but there are only ~20 pieces (and half of those are little grash tufts that need to be cemented to the base. Additionally there is very little surface detail to worry about sanding off, so I was able to go to town to fix the ugly seams.

After a few rounds of filling and sanding and priming this is what I have gotten it to. I am planning to paint it with a Buckskin coat (see below).

If no one else wants in I guess this just might turn into a build thread.

Another call for participants! And here is another progress shot of the Aurora stallion. Base is painted and the base color (MM acryl tan) has gone on the horse.

The horse is looking good. I was hoping that there would be more interest in your campaign idea. Oh well......maybe on down the road there will be others.

Thanks,
Randy

Calling this one done! I just need to seal it in the next few days and it really will be. Another bump for interest in the campaign and some shots of my finished Atlantis White Stallion (1/12) kit for inspiration.

Thanks for looking.

Hi,

I'd like to participate with a dino or two by Tamiya, scale 1:35 and perhaps aHuman as scale.

See you, HP

Hi Van. Your horse turned out great. I love the blending you did with the colors. Hopefully you can get some more interest for the campaign. The good thing about campaigns here on Historicus Forma is that there only has to 5 to get a campaign approved. So I suppose I should get my kit ordered.

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks, I thought it may be 10 like the other network sites. Even better, who's gonna be the last one?

How about the banner?

Just playing around and came up with these.

Definitely not the final deal...just toying with some images.

Randy

After posting these I see I will need to work with the font on the actual banner size images.

I'll try to join later with some 1/72 bisons and maybe Indans on horses during the hunt.
On the other hand I REALLY have to finish the projects I already have on my desk before I start a new one...

Well I enlisted and will be using this kit for my entry.

I will work on a few more banner designs. If anyone else has some banner ideas please throw them out there. I am just playing around with some different things. I will see if I can add a dinosaur or two to what I have as per Van's request. I might even make a more plain version as well. I like the ribbon Andrzej. It looks nice.

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks Randy! Let's see what Van thinks about it.
I'll try to help with a banner as well, but my current situation at work and at home leaves me with very little time to work on these things...
