Simple idea – let’s paint anything as long as it is bust (and by bust I mean sculpted or cast representation of the upper part of the human figure, depicting a person's head and neck, as well as a variable portion of the chest and shoulders).

1. It must be a bust
2. Any scale, any era.

Sounds interesting. Have a few busts ongoing and a few more to do. Great practise for both leanring and improving your figure painting skills.

Pam

Yes. But if you want to start earlier we may extend the campaign and move the start date (without moving end date).
Let me know when would you like to start.

Since Pam is interested we have enough people to submit this campaing for approval and hope that Campaigns administrator will give it a green light

Andrzej,
A question The bust I intend to use requires some repairs.
Are these allowed prior to the beginning of the campaign?
Ie:is this a paint only Campaign?

TIA

Chris,

Busts are not equal - some of them are made as one piece block, some have 27 pieces and photo etched parts included. In this situation building the bust is not as important for me as painting it (I'm going to be murdered by bust sculptors in 3...2...1... )
If you are talking about repairs - feel free to start whenever you want and turn your bust to original, undamaged state prior to campaign's start.

Andrzej

Cheers, thanks for the quick reply.
The bust I'm considering is one I've have for ages and its been painted, stripped.repainted stripped dropped several times end result the top of the shako broke and the the floor monster decided it was tasty,So I'm having to do a repair.

I am having problems joining this campaign. I hope someone can help. My husband passed away Friday night and the service is today so I am trying to keep my mind off things and surfing the web but maybe I'm not thinking too well. My 20 year old son and I are the only ones here as we have very few relatives so it is hard. I will eventually beging to paint again but it may be a month or two before I begin. I have a bust from Linjo Models of their Dutch Red Lancer Trumpeter to paint. When I'm ready I will re-join you all.

Pam, I'm so very very sorry. My deepest condolences. My thoughts are now with you and your son.

Whenever you feel like painting again and would like to join the campaign just go HERE and click "ENLIST" button on the right side of the screen (over the list of already enlisted users); remember - you must be logged in to be able to do this).

Once again, please accept my condolences.

Thank you everyone.
I didn't see I wasn't logged in on that web page so now I am signed up. Don't know when I'll begin painting but it will be a good diversion from my grieving. Pam

Hi all!

Just wanted to inform you that I've made a ribbon for this campaign:

I hope you like it and that you want to have one .

Having to decide between available Ronin, Roman Matrona and Greek freedom fighter I've chosen Georgios Drakos for this campaign... this is going to be difficult one for me...

Hi Guys,
Quick update
I'm just waiting to finish a bust of Rommel I've been working on for a while.
Then its Rock and Roll, game on...
I've still to decide which one I'm gonna do ,I feel I might have to have a couple on the go at once just to be sure.
Decisions decisions.

Chris
