Just curious. Has anyone ever done a Wild West Campaign? There are a decent amount of figures available now. I paint a lot of ww2 stuff so some variety is cool now and again.

Hi Mister Aaron,

I found your idea interresting, altough I have nothing in stock that could fit this subject. I guess woodland indians would be off topic
Best,

Count me in.

Could you suggest start/end dates and give some more info on rules of campaign?

I'm doing a cowboy bust right now.
Would it matter that it was already started?

Basic rules off the top of my head.

Start time early 2012. This gives people time to finish some current camps they are in and to obtain a mini as most won't have one in their stash and most LHS don't stock them. So people would need some time if it has to be ordered.

Time Period: Wild West or Fantasy Wild West i.e. Movies. There are some minis from famous movies available. Historical Soldiers, outlaws, Native Americans through to movie gunslingers etc

scale: Any

campaign length: 6 months

Vehicles: Sure. If any of the armor guys want to do a stage coach or train or...something

Scratchbuilding: Sure no problem there if someone wants to add stuff.

I think most campaigns prefer the minis to be started and done just for the campaign. But as its a rather niche idea we might need to be a little flexible.

Hi Arron,
No problem, I understand completely.
I shouldn't have even asked as it's just about finished.
Just got a little excited at the coincidence of having a piece that fit into a campaign.

@Nico to be honest neither do I at this point.

@Mongol No problem. If it was just primed or just started then I think it would be cool, but if its just about finished I think you'd have more fun doing something new

Oh and of course another rule would be post WIP pics so we can see whats going on and share stuff and post 1 or 2 pics to the gallery on completion

I would consider it. It will just depend on my schedule and everything else. I would love to do a Native American vignette of some kind.

Thanks for the idea.

Native Americans would most certainly fit the idea.

I'd be up for it especially if Masterbox release their "8th Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment" set in time

I was thinking 6 months, however I was basing that on a single figure like a 54mm and assuming people are in other campaigns as well. However if people are doing larger figures and/or multi in a scene then I don't have a problem with extending the time for the campaign.

I was more refering to the start date, but thanks for stating the proposed duration. Also if busts are allowed (since I don't think I will be able the find the figures I need for my dio) I will be in with that.

Happy to have you all on board. I haven't fully decided what to do, but I am thinking of a movie character of some kind.

Campaign is officially approved!

You can enlist HERE

One more thing:
Please keep all your progress reports and pictures in campaign thread.
Let's make it a real group build not a group of separate builds. It will be easier to follow all participant's progress this way and will make campaign forum less messy. Thanks in advance!

Have fun!
