The Warsaw Uprising began on August 1st 1944. After few days of fights Poles took control over substantial areas of the city but thay needed support from outside the city. By Stalin's decision (Soviet dictator denied any help for fighting Warsaw although Red Army stood on the other side of Vistula River and did not allow British and American planes to refuel on Soviet airfields) Insurgents were left for certain detath. After 63 days of haevy fights Uprising ended.

Polish model company Toro - Poland have recently announced, through parent company Adelbertus their latest figure releases: this time two figures representing the Polish Army in Afghanistan during 2008.
In a recent forum discussion, the subject of suitable figures for the august '44 uprising by the Polish Home Army was raised - now, coincidentally, ToRo Model of Poland, have announced four NEW 1/35th scale figures..
